Roddick revved up for Brisbane

The 28-year-old American, whose battle against infectious viral illness mononucleosis restricted him to just two titles last season, flew into Brisbane four days before the other tournament top seeds to practice.

Ranked eighth in the world, Roddick is one of three top-10 players in the field, along with Swedish top seed Robin Soderling and Spaniard Fernando Verdasco, ahead of January's Australian Open in Melbourne.

And the 2003 US Open champion and three-time Wimbledon finalist says he is finally feeling more like his old self.
