The world number two was at his very best in Sunday's final, seeing off Rafael Nadal 6-3 3-6 6-1, giving the Swiss star renewed optimism for next year.
Many have questioned whether Federer has begun a downward curve this year, losing in the quarter-finals of both the French Open and Wimbledon, and seeing Nadal knock him off his perennial perch at the top of the rankings.
But the 29-year-old insists it was another great season, with five titles and a victory at the Australian Open under his belt.
"Everything was there," said Federer of 2010. "I think physically I was better than the last two seasons. That obviously makes me be very positive for next year, that I believe I can have another great season in 2011.
